About Heather Algar:

Born in Ottawa, Canada, Heather started taking piano lessons at the age of 8, and singing in choirs at the age of 14. She was also a member of various ensembles for 9 years as a trumpet player.

Heather graduated from Texas Woman's University with a degree in Music studying voice as her principal instrument, and performing frequent recitals and concerts as a soloist. In college she studied Opera, Art Songs and Musical Theatre. Heather was also an active member of the TWU Woman's Chorus, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Brass Quintet, and continued her study of piano and music theory.

A classically-trained lyric soprano, Heather continued to study voice in Paris, France before moving to Washington, D.C. where she studied voice and sight singing. Now located in Phoenix, she continues to follow her life-long passion for music by educating others. Heather believes that music lessons should be fun and rewarding and places a high value on learning how to use music in everyday lives.

About Rod Ferreira:

Rod has been playing guitar for over 15 years. He received a B.A. in Music from the University of North Dakota, studying guitar as his principal instrument. He also studied piano, bass guitar, ukelele, conducting, theory and music history.

Rod has been performing and recording with bands of various styles since 2002. For the past 10 years Rod has been teaching guitar in addition to his performing. His experience, enthusiasm and love of music inspire his students. Using his knowledge and teaching experience, Rod has written 3 volumes of instructional books on guitar basics which outline some of the finer introductory points in a systematic and easy-to-understand way. Rod is originally from Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish in addition to English.

Rod teaches all styles of music including classical guitar, heavy metal, flamenco, jazz, pop, country and folk.

About Robert Fisher:

Robert has been playing keyboards since the age of ten. He graduated from Arizona State University where he studied music theory and composition. Robert has a special passion for composing music, and finished 3rd place nationally in the Music Teacher's National Composition Competition in 1988. As a professional musician, Robert has toured with The Fortunes, and performed with The Coasters and Ritchie Havens. Robert has just completed his third CD, titled Jazzed Up. Robert enjoys performing and teaching all styles of music including classical, jazz, and pop, and loves sharing his passion of music with his students. He believes that music instruction should not only be educational, but also enjoyable, exciting and rewarding.
